HUMAN RESOURCES BUSINESS PARTNER

As the Human Resources Business Partner you would be responsible for recruitment and selection, retention and engagement, organizational development and employee relations. 

 

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This Human Resources Business Partner will report directly to the Director of Human Resources, and provide consultation and service to the business areas in support of HR Management and employee relations. This position ensures that the Company can meet its customer service obligations by providing timely, relevant and efficient human resource services to the assigned divisions within Aurora Cannabis Inc. The Human Resources Business Partner will support the Director of Human Resources on a number of diverse initiatives and priorities. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Lead a team of HR professionals 
•    Conducts weekly meetings with respective business units.
•    Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
•    Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
•    Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
•    Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
•    Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
•    Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
•    Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
•    Develops contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
•    Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
•    Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
•    Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
•    Performs other related duties as assigned.

•    Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
•    Ability to work in a fast paced, and changing corporate environment 
•    Advanced computer skills including experience with HRIS and Microsoft Office products
•    High degree of initiative, diplomacy and discretion
•    Ability to interact with all levels of staff, including Management and Executive
•    Works independently yet strong HR team player
•    Ability to travel locally within Ontario facilities

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS
•    Undergraduate Degree in related field 
•    5 to 7 years of directly related experience working for large publicly traded company required. 
•    Experience in a management role is required
•    Experience working for a manufacturing company is required
•    Experience working for a multi-site company 
•    CHRP Designation is an asset
