Job summary

Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance, the Maintenance Planner plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient planning and execution of maintenance activities, promoting safe operations, and optimizing the performance of the physical plant and its associated equipment. This role will focus on maximizing the effective use of the CMMS process, proactively reducing downtime, and minimizing production disruptions. Additionally, the Planner will take a lead role in purchasing and contractor management, ensuring seamless coordination and cost-effective decision-making.
Ideal candidates will be exceptional problem solvers with a strong ability to develop and implement complex models. Success in this role requires collaborative teamwork, technical expertise, and a keen focus on operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities
•    Responsible for coordinating and scheduling daily job plans
•    Analyze maintenance repair specifications to determine tools, parts and human resource requirements
•    Facilitate communication between maintenance and other onsite departments in the facility
•    Responsible for ordering parts according to lead times (Consumables, Services & Spare parts.)
•    Monitor critical parts inventory levels to achieve necessary levels
•    Work with Maintenance Manager to ensure KPI’s are tracked and met
•    Perform equipment reliability analysis and recommend improvements based on Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) findings
•    Assist with site engineering support for PERTS.
•    Update CMMS with data regarding labor hours, parts usage and contractor repair costs
•    Responsible for organizing the maintenance warehouse and receiving area
•    Receive and match invoices, documenting any discrepancies 
•    Vendor management, asset management, inventory management & resource management. 
•    Assist the maintenance team on the floor with tools whenever needed.
•    Provide a central source of information concerning maintenance work, equipment, and equipment repair
•    Provide special tool and equipment requirements
•    Optimize manufacturing schedules, including coordination of work orders and assumed time frames to ensure sufficient product availability
•    Utilize CMMS, ERP, Isolocity, and any updated software.
•    Communicate expected availability and real-time delays to stakeholders while providing mitigation recommendations and shifts

•    Provide financial insight and assist General Managers with managing daily, weekly, monthly and annual production based on sales volumes and ensure we are in line with machine capacities, materials and manpower availability
•    Assist with documentation for audit requirements.
•    Responsible for performing cost/benefit analysis in support of proposed process improvements and developing recommendations to maximize operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

•    Proficiency in CMMS systems such as DIMO, SAP & Fix 
•    Extensive knowledge and deep understanding of various business intelligence concepts and common business functions, including maintenance management, inventory management, customer service, records management, policies, and procedures
•    Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly, maintain focus, and ensure high accuracy while working with complex data in a dynamic environment with changing deadlines, priorities, and requirements
•    Self-motivated with a strong customer focus
•    Experience with ERP software & Isolocity.
•    Excellent communication skills
•    Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and work on projects collectively
•    Strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to make quick decisions
•    Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
•    Proficiency in database setup and management, specifically Access
•    Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
•    Exceptional time management and follow-up skills; highly organized and detail-oriented
•    Effective team player and leader; approachable and supportive
•    Accountable for results, consistently striving to meet and exceed expectation
•    Exposure to GMP and GDP environments is required

Education & Experience:

•    At least 3 years of experience in planning within a manufacturing environment
•    A degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electromechanical, or a related discipline is an asset
•    Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
