MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (MILLWRIGHT)

 

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond to production issues in a timely manner.
  • Be responsible for repairing, maintaining and performing preventative maintenance on production tooling as assigned.
  • Keep all equipment in good working condition consistent with current SOP’s.
  • Inspect and test machinery and equipment.
  • Safely operate all required equipment and tools including standard shop equipment (mills, drill presses, brake press (metal fabrication), saws lathes and welding equipment.
  • Make parts to support equipment repair.
  • Utilize blueprints, sketches, descriptions, experience and support from Engineering and other sources of technical support to accomplish tasks.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools to verify parts, components and details are dimensionally correct.
  • Requires frequent bending, stooping, stretching, and prolonged standing.
  • May be required to lift to 25 pounds continuously throughout an 8-hour shift and 35 pounds occasionally.
  • Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Work independently to service various internal customers.
  • Where applicable, must adhere to Aurora’s SOPs and comply with the Cannabis Act. In addition, must adhere to ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environment Management System) and OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series).
  • Where applicable, promote and maintain GMP requirements.
  • Other duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 433A Millwright license 
  • A High school diploma/GED.
  • Machine Tool Technology Associates Degree, or completion of Tool and Die Apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as a Machine Operator is required.
  • Experience in operating a variety of equipment including, small hand tools, bench tools, welding equipment.
  • Be adaptable to a flexible working schedule.
  • Hold or gain a fork lift user license within 3 months.
  • Hold or gain working at heights certification within 3 months.
  • Technical problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively utilize basic shop math skills required.
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to read, comprehend and write English at a level to effectively utilize and interpret SDS’s, work instructions, technical manuals and documents.
  • Ability to use precision metal-working tools, hand tools and measuring equipment to ensure accuracy and close tolerances.
  • Blueprint reading and computer skills.
  • Experience with automated control systems.
  • Excellent skills in interpersonal relationships, communication and teamwork.
  • Work independently and possess a high level of self-motivation and initiative.
  • Physical capability of lifting up to 35 pounds unassisted.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
