Job summary
The Maintenance Technician, Millwright, is a skilled professional responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment in an industrial setting. This role requires expertise in millwright work, including precision machinery alignment, troubleshooting, and adherence to safety protocols.
Major Responsibilities / Duties:
1. Equipment Installation: Install, assemble, and align machinery and mechanical equipment according to specifications.
2. Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery, including conveyors, pumps, and rotating equipment.
3. Precision Alignment: Use precision tools and equipment to align and balance machinery components to ensure optimal performance.
4. Welding and Fabrication: Conduct welding and fabrication tasks as needed for equipment repairs and modifications.
5. Blueprint Interpretation: Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for machinery installation and repairs.
6. Preventive Maintenance: Execute preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment and promoting a culture of safety among team members.
8. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and inventory of spare parts.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1. Millwright Skills: Proficient in millwright work, including precision alignment, troubleshooting, and machinery repair.
2. Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude with a deep understanding of industrial machinery.
3. Welding and Fabrication: Experience in welding and fabrication techniques for equipment modifications and repairs.
4. Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
5. Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills to identify and address mechanical issues efficiently.
6. Safety Conscious: Strict adherence to safety protocols and commitment to promoting a safe working environment.
Education & Experience:
- Diploma or degree in electromechanical or mechanical engineering.
- Must be 433A (Millwright) certified.
- Must have 3-5 years of experience as a Millwright.
- Must have GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GDP (Good Documentation Practices) experience.
- Essential knowledge of food-grade welding.
- Familiarity with industrial machinery,tools, and equipment.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
