Hourly Rate: $32 per hour

We’re looking for an ambitious and hard-working professional to join our Maintenance team in the role of Operations and Maintenance Technician!

 

As a Operations and Maintenance Technician, you will….

  • Shared responsibility for the daily operation and basic upkeep of our Natural Gas Generation Station and its surrounding areas
  • Able to conduct preventative maintenance inspections and perform some basic maintenance of the CoGen stations
  • Being available to answer issues after hours due a 24/7 operation
  • Accountable for maintaining all applicable records, logs, reports as set out by both internal and external sources
  • Shared responsibility for monitoring and reporting out on the BAS (Priva) daily
  • Operating the BAS control systems to assist in the daily schedules of the facility and outside contractor groups as needed
  • Ensures that any daily monitoring and/or problems are discovered before they become larger issues.  Must be proactive…
  • Able to navigate mech and elect drawings and technical manuals.
  • Maintain logbooks, maintenance forms and complete CMMS entries daily.
  • Produce reports, records of information related to operational, maintenance and safety activities in the BAS and Power Generation systems.
  • Act as first responder in the event of problems with both our BAS and our CoGen
  • Receive general alarms/trips from the plant and takes appropriate action.
  • May be called upon to manage the system via a remote-control centre such as a laptop. Be available to performs remote troubleshooting using the various digital controls at their disposal.
  • Assist in coordinating the activities of external service providers
  • Environmental awareness – eliminates, reduce and/or clean up all environmental incidents. Report as regulated
  • Attends and participates in meetings, professional development training and all departmental orientation programs as assigned.
  • All duties outlined in the job description may occasionally be called upon to work alternate shift relief during staffing shortages or plant emergencies.

  • Shift schedule to be set but this is a Building Operations position, and the building is running 24/7

You would be the best fit for this role if you have…

  • BAS experience of at least 3yrs in a similar environment
  • Above average computer skills including trending and troubleshooting
  • Power Generation and/or facilities background of 2-5yrs
  • Possess a well-rounded basic knowledge of general maintenance practices, engines, generators, and related equipment.  Experience with Jenbacher, Waukesha, and Cat stations is considered an asset.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude to perform the hands-on operation of plant equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to make timely decisions associated with process upsets
  • Adaptive work style with an ability to handle multiple priorities, challenging demands, and function positively in a dynamic work environment
  • Must possess clear communication skills, as this person is expected to represent the Facilities Department in a positive manner to internal personnel and external contractors.

  • Comfortable working with cannabis
  • Physical effort is required, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and after hours as required
  • Repetitive use of hands, wrists and forearms
  • Comfortable working with step ladders (i.e. step ladder/single sided step ladder)
  • Must be able to wear proper PPE (jump suits, safety glasses, hair nets, etc.)
