Job summary
A Project Coordinator in Engineering plays a vital role in supporting project management activities within the engineering department. This position involves coordinating project tasks, facilitating communication among team members, and assisting in the planning and execution of engineering projects to ensure timely and efficient completion.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Coordination:
• Assist in planning and organizing engineering projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
• Coordinate project activities, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting meeting minutes.
Communication Facilitation:
• Act as a liaison between project teams, stakeholders, and engineering staff, ensuring clear and effective communication.
• Distribute project-related information, updates, and documentation to relevant team members.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budget and progress reports.
• Prepare regular status reports, highlighting project milestones, progress, and potential issues for management review.
Resource Management Support:
• Assist in resource allocation and tracking, coordinating equipment, materials, and manpower as per project needs.
• Support in monitoring project budgets and expenditures, reporting variances and discrepancies as necessary.
Quality Assurance Support:
• Assist in quality control activities, ensuring adherence to engineering and GMP standards, ensure proper procedures and regulatory requirements are met.
• Coordinate inspections, commissioning tests, and equipment and facility validations
Accountabilities:
• Support in the coordination and organization of engineering projects to achieve defined objectives, timelines and budgets.
• Execution of all project-related documentation including but not limited to status reports, financial forecasting and RAID logs
• Assistance in resource management and quality assurance efforts to ensure project success.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Understanding of project management methodologies and tools used in engineering project coordination.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage various project-related tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration among team members.
• Proficiency in project documentation, report preparation, and utilization of project management software.
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
• P. Eng/EIT is an asset
• 2-5 years of experience in project coordination or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or technical environment
• Familiarity with engineering principles, terminology, and project management practices.
• Familiar with Fire code, building code is an asset
• Proficiency in using project management software and Microsoft Office applications.
