Quality Assurance Shift Lead – Afternoon Shift

Location: Bradford, ON

 

Aurora Cannabis Inc. is currently looking for a Quality Assurance Shift Lead to work with our operations team in the fast-paced cannabis industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing members of the Quality Assurance team at our River - Bradford facility.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support Quality Assurance Supervisor by providing Quality leadership on the off-shift
  • Liaise with Quality Assurance Supervisor daily to gather/provide cross-over information
  • Provide team with clear direction daily on task priorities and other updates
  • Provide training, coaching and support to the off-shift team
  • Maintain knowledge of current processes by performing hands-on activities daily; including but not limited to sampling, in-process testing and auditing
  • Provide feedback to Quality Assurance Supervisor on team productivity or pain points to ensure all duties and tasks can be performed efficiently and effectively
  • Promote positive working relationships and the resolution of conflicts with Supervisor
  • Support Quality Assurance Supervisor in goal development and measurement
  • Reinforce goal attainment with the team, ensuring goals are understood and can be met
  • Understand, enforce and follow all relevant Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ensure alignment with QA group to ensure that facility SOPs are being followed in a consistent manner.
  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve safety, product quality or productivity
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance Supervisor on coverage for planned or unplanned absences
  • Coordinate with other leads cross shift
  • Ensure that the workplace is safe and clean. This includes reviewing and enforcing all Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards and policies.
  • Complete and fill all incident reports and accident reports and reporting all violations of safety and other policies
  • Complete all required documentation (manual and electronic) including Logbooks, Batch Records, and Daily Production Report, using good documentation practices.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Knowledge of MS Office/file systems (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems (SAP, SAGE or other)

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • One (1) years minimum in a Supervisor or Lead role with proven ability to manage and lead diverse employee groups
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Science background recommended
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production or quality assurance environment considered an asset
  • Knowledge or basic understanding of GMP standards and SOP’s
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to meet deadlines and ensure department goals are achieved
  • Accurately follow instructions, complete forms and paperwork as required
  • Knowledge or basic understanding of GMP standards is considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to work evenings  
  • Ability to work weekends as required to support operational requirements
