Job summary
Aurora Cannabis Inc. is currently looking for a QUALITY CONTROL ASSOCIATE to join our team. The successful candidate will be required to have some flexibility in their schedule to meet the needs of the facility. The incumbent will report directly to the Manager, Quality Assurance at River (Bradford, On) and will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities:
Promote positive safety culture through participation, and adherence to, HSE programs
· Promote positive working relationships with all departments
· Understand, interpret, and apply regulatory, GACP, GPP and GMP requirements
· Act as an ambassador for regulatory and process compliance
· Provide guidance to procurement on suitability of materials for purchase
· Ability to organize and facilitate multi-disciplinary research projects, and organize and implement scientific experiments and/or procedures
· Develop direct-input and finished product specifications ensuring EU/USP compliance
· Manage the sampling, submission, and lab tracking of all Cannabis samples for release
· Manage the site/lab relationships, and tracking conformance of lab result TAT
· Complete investigation of any OOS, prepare report and direct disposition
· Support investigation and risk assessments related to product NCR as required
· Write, revise, and continuously improve in-scope SOPs ensuring compliance
· Responsible for the maintenance (site-level), conformance and management of:
- Controlled, Bulk and Final Material Sampling & Approved Materials List
- Specifications for all product categories (spec tables) & associated CoA/CoMs
- Specification Creation/ERP Inspection Plan
- Environmental Monitoring; Air, Surface, Water
· Participate in Annual Product Quality Review
· Participate in Internal and External Audits, as required
· Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Experience:
• A Canadian (or assessed as equivalent) B.Sc. degree or equivalent in an applicable discipline of science (chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, chemical engineering, medicine, horticulture, medical laboratory science or related).
• · Three (3) years’ experience in Quality Control/Assurance.
• · Functional understanding of HPLC, GC-MS, ICP-MS, spectroscopy, and plant sciences an asset
Skills & Knowledge:
• Knowledge of Quality Assurances programs such as GMP, HACCP and ISO.
• · Strong team facilitation/leadership skills with a commitment to self, and team, development.
• · Strong interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written)
• · Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
• · Proficient with standard office technology such as Microsoft Office and ERP systems
