QUALITY LEAD – PROJECTS

Location: Bradford, ON



As a Quality Lead - Projects you will be responsible for leading and overseeing projects related to Quality throughout Eastern Canada. Based in Ontario, in this role, you will have the opportunity to use expertise in project planning and coordination activities across Quality initiatives, in collaboration with stakeholder groups and work with business/technical leads to identify and mitigate quality risk.

 

Reporting to the Manager Quality Assurance – Projects, as a Quality Lead - Projects, you will work closely with all stakeholder groups across Aurora, focusing on Quality Assurance/Control initiatives, engaging with all levels of management, to influence progress and to achieve quality objectives.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilizes project management techniques to meet project timelines and milestones, and achieve project objectives and deliverables, and prepares detailed and timely status reports
  • Participates in the development of quality assurance/control process standards and best practices
  • Assures project requiring Quality support are analyzed, needs are addressed, and projects are planned during new product development initiatives, global regulatory requirements, and other initiatives
  • Recommends resource needs, budgets to manage and control project initiatives
  • Develops project charters, identify key stakeholders, create project management plans, define, and communicate timelines/scope/schedule and more, demonstrates project completion in the form of project brief/status report, writes mitigation plans as part of project requiring Quality support
  • Project plans and/or participate in certifications, accreditations for the east undergoing GMP, ISO and other certifications to ensure non-conformances are completed
  • Able to take simple complex problems and projects and develop plans to mitigate risks and ensure Quality needs are considered and met
  • Ensures compliance with company quality standards
  • Leads and/or participates in projects relating to integration, standardization, and growth initiatives in Quality across the east and in collaboration with the west
  • Leads and/or participates in Quality electronic system planning, implementation, and effectiveness
  • Leads and/or project plans continuous process improvement initiatives as requires
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or college diploma in science, laboratory science, food science, pharmaceuticals, or engineering.
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years’ experience as Lead in Quality Assurance, Quality Control
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals, including auditors, management, engineering, project management, quality, operations, regulatory, product development staff etc.,
  • Experience working through complex projects and/or problems to reach a workable solution
  • Ability to travel as required

 

JOB ASSETS:

  • Experience with aspects of project management and business analysis
  • Certifications - CSQE (or equivalent), CAPM or in the process of obtaining project management certification and/or relevant project management courses (PMP is not required but considered an asset)
  • Experience working in a highly complex pharmaceutical, food manufacturing, laboratory, consumer packaged goods or pharmaceutical distribution center/3PL environment.
