the Supervisor of Processing is a key player in our organization. Under the leadership and direction of the Site Lead of Processing, you will be responsible to ensure the organization’s performance standards are met through various processing activities. Responsible for the safe and effective execution of all duties using efficient and safe manufacturing processes through the supervision of production team members. Must adhere to the schedule and ensure that quality standards are met.


Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Co-operate and maintain communications with other departments and suggest solutions/improvements to the Site Lead of Processing
  • Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational, and personnel policies and procedures
  • Co-ordinate and document training and evaluation records
  • Communicate effectively with other supervisors to build teamwork and co-operation
  • Check and follow the production schedule in day to day work and to adapt to any changes,
  • Control unnecessary overtime and control and maintain labor
  • Identify waste areas and recommend solutions
  • Liaise between management and employees and relay employee input to management
  • Ensure and enforce compliance with safe work practices and OHSA regulations
  • Adhere to and promote adherence to MedReleaf’s policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance to Health Canada’s regulations as per The Cannabis Act
  • Monitor and enforce work habits in accordance to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Maintain high level of morale, enthusiasm and quality of the trim process
  • Be a role model by being consistent in behavior, communication and expectations
  • Recognize unsafe conditions and practices and make corrections to prevent injuries and product loss.
  • Position details and activities may change from time to time to meet operational needs.
  • Other duties as required.


Working Conditions:

  • Physical effort is required, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 30 lbs
  • Temperatures range from 20 degrees Celsius to 24 degrees Celsius.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and after hours as required.
  • Repetitive use of hands, wrists and forearms


Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role in a processing environment in a relevant industry, including: food, health care, pharmaceuticals, etc.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a GMP environment is preferred
  • Must be able to wear Proper PPE (jump suits, safety glasses, hair nets, etc.)
  • Ability to handle stress while performing multiple tasks.
  • Must have ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Close attention to detail
  • Must have experience managing/supervising staff; specifically, more than 30 employees
  • Must have the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate to excellent computer skills in MS Office
  • Excellent time management, leadership, decision making, and interpersonal skills.
