Job Summary

The Facility Cleaner plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within a facility. This position involves performing cleaning duties to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for employees, visitors, and clients.

 

Major Responsibilities / Duties:


1.    Cleaning Tasks: Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing surfaces.
2.    Trash Removal: Empty and dispose of trash bins regularly, ensuring proper waste disposal practices.
3.    Sanitization: Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchen areas, and other common spaces to maintain a hygienic environment.
4.    Surface Disinfection: Use appropriate cleaning agents to disinfect frequently-touched surfaces, doorknobs, and common areas.
5.    Floor Maintenance: Ensure that floors are well-maintained, including spot cleaning and responding promptly to spills.
6.    Stocking Supplies: Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other necessary items.
7.    Reporting Issues: Report any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate personnel for prompt resolution.
8.    Adherence to Safety Standards: Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
9.    Special Cleaning Projects: Undertake special cleaning projects as assigned, such as carpet cleaning, window washing, or deep cleaning.


Accountabilities:


1.    Cleanliness Standards: Accountable for meeting established cleanliness and hygiene standards within the facility.
2.    Resource Management: Accountable for effective and efficient use of cleaning supplies and equipment.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

•    Cleaning Procedures: Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures, techniques, and the safe use of cleaning chemicals.
•    Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and sanitation.
•    Time Management: Efficient time management skills to complete tasks within specified timeframes.
•    Communication Skills: Basic communication skills to report issues and coordinate cleaning schedules.

 

Education & Experience:


•    High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
•    Proven experience in janitorial or cleaning roles is advantageous.
•    Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards.
•    Ability to operate cleaning equipment and machinery.
•    Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
•    Familiarity with the use of cleaning tools and chemicals.

 

This role is in one of Aurora’s Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified plants and works directly with products. Towards the end of the recruitment process, we require that you undergo a medical screening exam with our third-party vendor.
