As the Manager, IT Commercial Solutions you will..
- Lead the technical delivery of software development projects for various global applications and e-commerce initiatives
- Manage a high-performing team of IT development and custom application professionals to foster their success through coaching, mentoring, and training
- Liaise with business stakeholders and product owners to translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed project plans and schedules
- Facilitate the day-to-day activities of the custom application and development team by defining, implementing, and maintaining a coherent, progressive development strategy for our product line
- Work closely with user groups to define and present the business case for new software capabilities to IT Director, Commercial, Finance, HR Solutions and senior management to ensure stakeholder expectations are met
- Research, review, recommend and implement modern technology solutions to optimize custom software development life cycle and ensure a successful delivery of applications on-time and on-budget
- Ensure all software development initiatives are compliant with relevant rules & regulations (SOX/CSOX, PCI, GDPR, CASL, WCAG 2.0 etc.) and corporate privacy policy
- Report on status of product quality to management, customer support and product teams via rigorous execution of detailed plans and accurate reporting of test cases executed, bugs discovered, bugs fixed, etc.
- Monitor and manage daily operational support activities, in alignment with business SLA’s, of critical applications including legacy solutions by working closely with other IT teams to ensure production applications are performing and operationally stable
- Manage Application Life Cycle, including upgrades, testing, and coordinating service outages and DevOps practices for entire Software Engineering department (COTS, Custom Applications: Web & eCommerce solutions)
- Collaborate with users to provide training and ensure that implementations and related integrations meet the functional and business requirements and
- Develop controls to ensure departmental expenditures are aligned with approved Capital and Operating budgets and manage strong vendor relations
You’re the ideal candidate if you have…
- Post-secondary education, such as a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma, in Computer Science or related field
- A minimum of 5 – 7 years of relevant work experience building software and leading software developers teams building large-scale web applications in global, remote, and public company environments (we would also welcome an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
- A technical development background using modern cloud and serverless architecture (AWS / Azure), JavaScript, React with Next.js; Shopify and integrations
- Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Bonus points if you have…
- Experience working with JIRA, Confluence and CRM systems (MS Dynamics)
- Strong knowledge or prior work experience in relevant industries such as cannabis or CPG dynamics
