Aurora is recruiting a Junior Buyer, Construction. Reporting to the Senior Buyer, Construction and working with our Vice President of Construction, this position will oversee and assist in the procurement and distribution of construction supplies and equipment purchases as well as research products, ensure there is contract compliance, and ensure order confirmation.


This role will also assist with product handling such as product substitution, product transportation and storage, and inventory management and ordering.


The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel.



  • Coordinates acquisition of supplies or services related to Aurora construction projects.
  • Assures proper authorization is obtained for requested purchases.
  • Facilitate PO requests for procurement
  • Assists in the purchasing of construction supplies. Coordinates capital and non-capital purchases in accordance to Finance and Supply Chain guidelines.
  • Performs product research and pricing as needed by department.
  • Prepares corporate audit work papers relating to accounts payable and year-end entries and report
  • Review sub-contractor orders and associated warranty documents
  • Handles invoice verification on new supply set ups (verify rates and any misc. charges)
  • Entering specifications and monitoring order status through our procurement system
  • Providing first-rate customer service to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Monitoring and evaluating supplier performance related to price, quality and service
  • Other duties as assigned; this is not an exhaustive list of the duties and responsibilities, and the successful candidate is expected to perform other duties as necessary and assigned.




  • Knowledge of ERP software highly preferred
  • Ability to excel in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires a fast learner and flexible thinker
  • Ability to work on assignments that will require judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations
  • Apply substantial knowledge of the job and experience to complete a wide range of activities with varying difficulty
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with different deadlines with strong attention to detail
  • Desire and ability to take full ownership of projects and produce high quality work
  • Strong work ethic with excellent organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team player; able to interact with all levels of management
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills



  • 2-4 years’ experience in project procurement, supply chain, and/or general contractor experience
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and Word
