MARKETING AND OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

 

Reporting to the Vice President, Genetics Business Development, the Marketing and Operations Coordinator will be located in Comox, BC, and will be a member of the Science and Innovation Department. The position will be responsible for a variety of day-to-day tasks, with emphasis on operations, marketing, and office administration.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Liaise with a variety of personnel within the Science and Innovation Department, as well as other departments throughout Aurora’s global family of companies.
  • Coordinate and track the shipment of plant material between Aurora’s research facilities and customers both international and domestic.
  • Coordinate and track the development, negotiation, and execution of key legal documents such as Material Transfer Agreements, Licensing Agreements, and License Option Agreements.
  • Coordinate visits to the Aurora research facility, greet guests and perform certain hospitality functions, and assist with tours.
  • Assume a lead role in managing Occo’s marketing efforts, with the assistance of Aurora’s central marketing resources and external consultants. Regularly create or drive the creation of social media content in support of Occo’s broader marketing strategy.
  • Support the VP, Genetics Business Development with administrative tasks such as calendar management, travel arrangements, expense reporting, developing and driving meeting agendas, and using project management tools to drive initiatives to completion.
  • Manages and performs office responsibilities including ordering supplies, couriers, and occasional reception.
  • Composes, reviews, and follows through on internal and external communication with a commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintain paper and electronic filing system (code and file documents according to the established procedures).
  • Supports related projects and may conduct research as required.
  • Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time
     

Commitments and engagements of the executives extend beyond regular office hours and although this role generally does not require attendance at such events or significant overtime, there are times when it will be necessary to provide support beyond regular office hours across multiple time zones around Canada and across the world.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a role that requires complex coordination of people, places, things, and events, particularly when subject to firm deadlines.
  • 1-3 years’ experience with marketing and/or social media account management.
  • College diploma in a relevant field is considered an asset. Relevant fields include administration, business, biology, or law.
  • Ability to act with minimal supervision, discretion, maturity, and with absolute confidentiality.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines and to balance multiple and varied projects at one time.
  • Familiar with using office equipment such as photocopier, scanner, etc.
  • Strong reconciliation and audit skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software for word processing, spreadsheets, email, Internet
  • Familiar with using Microsoft Office – Word, Excel etc.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Excellent communication skills, both in oral and written
