Cleaning Shift Lead, Mountain

 

Reporting to the Cleaning Team Lead, the Cleaning Shift Lead, Mountain will be responsible for cleaning, stocking and supplying designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc.), performing and documenting routine inspection and maintenance activities. This position will also include the responsibility of carrying out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects as assigned.

 

The regular shift for this position is Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with the requirement to work occasional weekends to accommodate shift rotation and team member time off.

 

Duties:

  • Co-lead a team of industrial cleaners and participate in cleaning duties alongside team members
  • Complete laborious and repetitive cleaning tasks on a daily basis, including scrubbing and removing cannabis residue from rooms (high and low cleaning), lifting buckets up to 25 kgs and hauling carts indoors/outdoors 
  • Assisting the Propagation team with potting plants
  • Responsible for assisting the Cleaning Team Lead with creating, adjusting, and maintaining employee shift schedules, including rotational shifts
  • Responsible for ensuring team members are meeting expectations and working consistently
  • Delegate tasks as required and handle issues as they arise with respect to workflows and people management
  • Ensures compliance with both GACP and GMP requirements in cleaning practices
  • Provide mentorship to team members and assist with workloads when necessary
  • In partnership with the Cleaning Team Lead, plan necessary cleaning and sanitizing
  • Ensure work meets Aurora GMP/SOP requirements and quality standards
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures relating to performance of tasks, use of products or supplies and incident reporting
  • Other facility operational duties assigned by the Cleaning Team Lead

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years commercial cleaning experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in a supervisory role
  • Ability to lift 25 kgs on a regular basis
  • Ability to complete physically demanding work on one's feet for 8 hour-shifts (including bending, kneeling, reaching and squatting)
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Familiarity with MSDS
  • Knowledge of GACP and GMP considered an asset
  • Ability to think strategically and problem solve
  • Ability to multitask in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Time management skills; organized and detail oriented

  • This position involves significant exposure to cannabis/plant materials, and it is therefore not likely suitable for an employee that may suffer from allergies to cannabis/plant pollen material, or experience other medical issues, such as asthma and hay fever, as a result of cannabis/plant material exposure
  • Comfortable working with chemical products (required to wear a respiratory mask for protection, which requires a clean-shaven face)
  • Comfortable working inside and outside in various temperature conditions (hot and cold)
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools
  • Comfortable working in noisy conditions (required to wear appropriately rated hearing protection devices)
