Aurora Cannabis Inc. is currently recruiting for a Cleaning Team Lead for our Mountain facility located near Cremona, AB. Reporting to the General Manager, the Cleaning Team Lead will be responsible for cleaning, stocking and supplying designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc.), performing and documenting routine inspection and maintenance activities. This position will also include the responsibility of carrying out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects as assigned.

 

Duties:

 

  • Oversee team members and ensure company standards are being met
  • Responsible for creating, adjusting, and maintaining employee shift schedules, including rotational shifts
  • Approving employee time clock submissions in Dayforce
  • Handles performance management and goal setting for/with team members
  • Responsible for ensuring team members are meeting expectations and working consistently
  • Able to delegate tasks as required and handle issues as they arise with respect to workflows as well as people management
  • Provide mentorship to team members and assist with workloads when necessary
  • Provide support and direction to team members
  • Ability to manage a diverse and growing team of individuals
  • Responsible for supporting the business unit by providing care-taking/maintenance inspections 
  • Coordinate weekly inspections with cleaning staff, document and follow up on deficiencies and provide report to management 
  • Meet with Trades to coordinate scheduled maintenance that affects daily cleaning schedule
  • Warehousing operations and coordination of receiving of certain items needed for facility and coordinating storage in facility
  • Occasional ordering of cleaning supplies
  • When applicable, follow up with contractors to ensure work is completed and plan necessary cleaning and sanitizing
  • Other facility operational duties assigned by the General Manager
  • Use various computer applications to enable efficient planning and scheduling
  • Ensure work meets Aurora GMP/SOP requirements and quality standards
  • Communicate on a regular basis with the General Manager to ensure company goals are met
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures relating to performance of tasks, use of products or supplies and incident reporting

 

Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma
  • 5 years cleaning experience
  • Minimum 3 years commercial cleaning experience
  • 3-5 years in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Familiarity with MSDS
  • Ability to think strategically and problem solve
  • Ability to multitask in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Time management skills; organized and detail oriented
  • Effective team player and leader; approachable and supportive
  • Accountable for results, strives to meet and exceed expectations
  • Ability to work within a team where members depend on each other to get work done
  • Self-starter; able to identify work that needs to be done and do it without being instructed to do so
  • Desire to learn, seek new challenges and take on additional responsibilities
