This position has the possibility of having a location split between Calgary, AB. and Cremona, AB. 


Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, West, this role will be responsible for recruitment and selection, retention and engagement, and employee relations.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide consultation and service to the business areas in support of HR Management and employee relations. This position ensures that the Company is able to meet its customer service obligations by providing timely, relevant and efficient human resource services to the assigned divisions within Aurora Cannabis Inc.




  • Working with Management to identify and plan for human resource requirements to meet short and long-term business requirements
  • Coordinating and participating in the recruitment process by creating recruitment strategies, screening applications, conducting interviews, and preparing employment offers on behalf of the hiring Manager
  • Full cycle recruitment including heavy ramp-up with quick turn around times
  • Handling all employee relations matters including formal complaints and disciplinary action
  • Issuing and revising Group Averaging Agreements for multiple departments within the facility
  • Providing consultation and advice to Managers on a variety of employee relations and human resource issues.
  • Developing and/or supporting the execution of human resource guidelines, policies and procedures that adhere to applicable legislation, regulations, etc.
  • Facilitating New Hire Orientation as needed
  • Conducting exit interviews
  • Preparing and distributing ad hoc HR reports upon request by Management to meet business needs
  • Providing coaching and counseling to Managers and employees where appropriate




  • Good understanding and knowledge of human resources principles, best practices and applicable HR legislation
  • Experience with heavy recruitment and ramp-up
  • Experience handling employee relations including formal complaints
  • Knowledge of Group Averaging Agreements
  • Knowledge of benefits and payroll is an asset
  • Able to handle constant change in a growing and developing environment
  • Experience in recruitment and selection

  • Undergraduate Degree in related field with 4 to 5 years of directly related experience or Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources with 5 to 7 years of directly related experience
  • CHRP Designation is an asset
