MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN, MOUNTAIN 

 

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, this Manufacturing Technician will have the opportunity start an exciting career in the cannabis industry by learning about cannabis extraction, while gaining valuable experience with Supercritical Extraction. There is a very high expectation for the final oil product so the ideal candidate must have a strong willingness to learn and attention to detail.  

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Carrying out all procedures and performing all duties in an efficient manner that also complies with, industry regulations, OSHA regulations, SOP’s and all applicable procedures 

  • Ensuring compliance and accuracy involving all product tracking, product security, and product movement procedures 

  • Following appropriate control measures to prevent mixing of dissimilar production components while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) 

  • Performing in-process and post-process quality assurance sampling and conducting visual inspections to ensure all product meets or exceed Aurora’s specifications and patients’ expectations 

  • Responsible for extraction, decarboxylation, milling, and maintenance of inventory 

  • Potential for ad hoc projects 

 

 JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

 

  • High school diploma 

  • Science background is preferred  

  • Knowledge of GMP 

  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving ability and risk assessment  

  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability 

  • Excellent time management & multi-tasking abilities, as well as a high level of energy and interpersonal skills 

  • Must have focused attention to detail and excellent paperwork skills i.e. understanding of batch records 

  • Must be reliable, able to take direction, and thrive in a team setting 

  • Must work well under pressure and ability to meet tight deadlines 

  • Must be able to manage tight timelines to meet production needs 

  • This position involves significant exposure to cannabis/plant materials, and it is therefore not likely suitable for an employee that may suffer from allergies to cannabis/plant pollen material, or experience other medical issues, such as asthma and hay fever, as a result of cannabis/plant material exposure.
  • Comfortable working with chemical products (required to wear a respiratory mask for protection)
  • Comfortable working inside in various temperature conditions (hot and cold)
  • Must be able to use simple and basic hand tools.
  • Comfortable working in noisy conditions (required to wear appropriately rated hearing protection devices, as provided).
