PROPAGATION TEAM MEMBER

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Verify plant health and identify problems (mold/disease, insect, nutrient deficiencies)
  • Apply appropriate nutrients as per direction from Lead Cultivator/Propagation Shift Lead 
  • Revise, understand, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and related forms to GMP standards 
  • Large scale clonal propagation of plants by stem cuttings
  • Maintain clones, transplant, and prune using hand tools such as clippers and scissors
  • Complete all required documentation including Batch Records using good documentation practices
  • Maintain steady and effective communication with Lead Cultivator/Propagation Shift Lead; escalate concerns appropriately
  • Clean up and sanitize propagation materials and production areas
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of plants and/or greenhouse experience is considered an asset
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a degree or certificates in horticulture or related disciplines
  • Must be okay with repetitive tasks, physically demanding work, standing for extended periods of time and working in occasionally hot and humid conditions
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Reliable, passionate, and organized
  • Accurately follow instructions, complete forms and paperwork as required
  • Knowledge or basic understanding of GMP standards is considered an asset
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required to support operational requirements
