PROPAGATION TEAM MEMBER

 

Aurora Cannabis Inc. is seeking a Propagation Team Member to join our Mountain Facility located near Cremona, Alberta. This position is full time, 5 days per week from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The shift may be required to work weekends, with days off (weekdays) to be determined by the hiring manager.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Verify plant health and identify problems (mold/disease, insect, nutrient deficiencies)
  • Apply appropriate nutrients as per direction from Lead Cultivator/Propagation Team Lead 
  • Revise, understand, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and related forms to GMP standards 
  • Large scale clonal propagation of plants by stem cuttings
  • Maintain clones, transplant, and prune using hand tools such as clippers and scissors
  • Complete all required documentation including Batch Records using good documentation practices
  • Maintain steady and effective communication with Lead Cultivator; escalate concerns appropriately
  • Clean up and sanitize propagation materials and production areas
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of plants and/or greenhouse experience is considered an asset
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a degree or certificates in horticulture or related disciplines
  • Must be okay with repetitive tasks, physically demanding work, standing for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Reliable, passionate, and organized
  • Accurately follow instructions, complete forms and paperwork as required
  • Knowledge or basic understanding of GMP standards is considered an asset
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required to support operational requirements
  • This position involves significant exposure to cannabis/plant materials, and it is therefore not likely suitable for an employee that may suffer from allergies to cannabis/plant pollen material, or experience other medical issues, such as asthma and hay fever, as a result of cannabis/plant material exposure
  • Comfortable working with chemical products (required to wear a respiratory mask for protection)
  • Comfortable working inside in various temperature conditions (hot/humid and cold)
  • Must be able to use simple and basic hand tools.
  • Comfortable working in noisy conditions (required to wear appropriately rated hearing protection devices, as provided)
  • This position works in a remote location, so a reliable vehicle and valid drivers license is required.
