DIRECTOR, CORPORATE SYNERGIES (Vancouver, BC, Toronto, ON or Edmonton, AB)

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Work closely with the Vice President, Integrations and Synergies to develop the post M&A integration strategy and roadmap
  • Lead corporate synergy initiatives with Aurora and its subsidiaries to achieve both short- and long-term business objectives
  • Articulate and convey the organizations comprehensive strategy as it pertains to company assets and identifying and acting on potential synergies across the organization
  • Track synergies identified during the acquisition and integration phases, which are primarily of two types:
    • Financial synergies/savings/benefits
    • Future synergistic opportunities gained through the pairing of elements from the new organization with elements of the broader Aurora portfolio
  • Align relevant internal stakeholders across all business units to identify key integration objectives within their respective areas
  • Map the “as-is” state of an acquisition both post-acquisition and post-integration
  • Provide financial/data analysis to support planning and execution of post-integration initiatives related to corporate & strategic growth initiatives
  • Monitor governance of the acquisition (particularly post-integration) and manage data and file compilation
  • Lead, organize, and participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Preparation presentation materials for internal and external meetings

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to strategize vision and lead change
  • Proven expertise integrating organizations across a global landscape
  • Strong business analytical and planning skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (bilingualism is an asset)
  • High level of professionalism, integrity and ethics
  • Highly motivated and enjoys a challenge
  • Knowledge and experience in cannabis / pharma space would be a strong asset
  • Ability to travel 50%+ of the time

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

 

  • 8-10 years of progressive Corporate Development, Venture Capital, and/or M&A Advisory experience is required (experience within a regulated industry is an asset)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s Degree
  • Demonstrated strategic and business planning expertise
  • Experience in business transformation/change management is considered an asset
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, MS Teams), SmartSheets and LucidCharts (or Visio)
