Reporting to the Vice President, Global Research & Medical Affairs, the Director of Clinical Science- Health & Wellness will be located in Nisku, AB, and will be responsible for the global health and wellness research portfolio for Aurora Cannabis Inc.


Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: 




  • Managing the global health and wellness clinical research activities of the Biomedical Science team, as well as assisting on various project across other departments that may relate to health science
  • Responsible for developing, expanding, and directing the global health and wellness scientific initiatives and programming
  • Liaising with other divisions within the Biomedical Science department, and with cross-functional project stakeholders to maintain effective communication and execute projects
  • Recommending and designing new programs to meet national and international needs with respect to health evidence
  • Overseeing program operations including program planning and evaluation, financial management and administrative supervision
  • Providing leadership and oversight to the clinical health & wellness team and working with team members to achieve common objectives
  • Overseeing and coordinating the development of new innovations and supporting evidence ensuring that novel products are moved to the next phase of development in a timely manner
  • Develop and implement effective reporting to keep project stakeholders and senior management informed on key project metrics

  • M.D. or Ph.D in a health/medical science field or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in managing science (health/medicine- focused) departments
  • Experience managing projects involving multi-disciplinary teams operating in a fast-paced, innovation driven environment
  • MBA, PMP designation or equivalent certification would be considered a strong asset
  • Knowledge of the emerging cannabis industry would be considered an asset
