Reporting to the Director, Global Manufacturing Finance, the Director, Production Planning is responsible for leading Canadian production planning. This position will direct and lead production and manufacturing schedules to support our national and international operations. This role will appeal to a strategic problem solver who excels at creating complex modelling and thrives in a collaborative environment.   • Lead and Direct East & West (Canada) Planning team to create corporate demand/supply models.
  • Provide strategic vision for the department, including models, tools and KPIs
  • Develop, Measure and Report corporate KPIs related to production planning to senior management.
  • Key stakeholder for evaluating software, and ensuring proper training and use, including development of reports
  • Combine the corporate demand forecasts and inventory reports to create efficient production & cultivation process.
  • Drive the evolution of planning tools, models and integrations due to acquisition and growth
  • Support import/export activities to ensure they are included in production plans
  • Direct and analyse the corporate forecast models, analyze trends and support strategic decisions.
  • Lead and direct national production and manufacturing decisions
  • Lead, direct and train the production planning team to coordinate workflow and ensure deliverables are accurate and timely
  • Work closely with General Managers and Manufacturing Managers to ensure plans are aligned with available resources and throughput capabilities
  • Define and determine the corporate demand/supply trends, direct with all required planning analysis to identify any issue
  • Closely work with Sales & OP team to provide future guidance.
  • Work closely with the executive and senior management team on manufacturing plans, capacity requirements and new product development
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned


  • Broad knowledge and excellent understanding of a range of business intelligence concepts and common business functions and practices, including but not limited to maintenance management, inventory management, customer service, records management, policies and procedures, finance systems and reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements
  • Self-motivated and customer focused
  • Experience working with ERP software
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)

  • 8-10 years’ experience in management role with minimum 3 years in production planning in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelors required, Masters’ preferred or equivalent education focused on S&OP
  • Experienced with ERP software
  • Proven track record of successfully training employees in productivity and safety
  • Ability to coach and train the employees on a one-on-one basis as well as a group
  • Advanced knowledge of computer software applications, with proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word & PowerPoint)
  • Pharmaceutical or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience working in a regulated space
  • Proven success in leading multidisciplinary teams to the highest quality work
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements
  • Accountable for results, strives to meet and exceed expectations
