Equipment and Facility Qualification Project Leader (Aurora West)


Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Project Leader, Equipment and Facility Qualification will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:


Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible and accountable for working in accordance with the Aurora’s Health and Safety policies; use all supplied training, equipment, and tools and follow procedures in accordance with the Company policies; attend and support departmental audits and follow up on corrective actions within prescribed timelines.
  • Be responsible for the day to day operation of the EFQ group within Aurora sites in the West  (Sky/Mountain/Polaris/Sun)
  • Ensuring that all protocols, reports, and qualification studies are executed and approved in accordance with the project/department work schedule and guidelines
  • Ensuring that all Qualification work is executed to ensure the customers deadlines are met
  • Monitor and assist in resolving and problems that may arise during project execution
  • Ensuring equipment and facility change control process is functional and in accordance to Aurora’s quality systems.
  • Providing guidance and support for problem identification and resolution with protocols, reports and change control process.
  • Provide suggestions for continuous improvement of systems and facilities.
  • Review and approve protocols on behalf of the director.
  • Reviews and assesses impact of changes to the Qualification status, using the appropriate change control procedures and a risk based approach on behalf of the manager in case of absence.
  • Act a department contact for the status of Qualification projects.
  • Supports Quality and the EFQ Manager/Director during regulatory agency inspections.
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings.
  • Calibrate or manage calibration contractors during equipment qualification activities
  • Works as a member of a team to achieve all outcomes.
  • Where applicable, must adhere to Aurora’s SOPs and comply with Health Canada’s Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR). In addition, must adhere to ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environment Management System) and OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series).
  • Where applicable, promote and maintain GMP requirements.
  • Other duties as required


Job Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Science or Engineering
  • 1-5 years of experience in projects related to equipment commissioning, validation or qualification in a regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in a fast paced team environment working towards a common goal.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven organizational, time management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Customer focus is a must
  • Experience in risk based assessments within a regulated environment is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills in MS Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, Visio and Microsoft Project required
  • Ability to travel to other Aurora sites within Canada
