Aurora Cannabis is recruiting an Electrician at our Nisku facility to execute a variety of tasks relating to set up and maintenance of our electrical infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for installations, troubleshooting malfunctions and repairing electrical connections.


  • Execute plans of wiring for lighting, communications and other electrical systems.
  • Install safety and distribution components including but not limited to, switches, resistors, circuit breaker panels, etc.
  • Install electrical fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems.
  • Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components.
  • Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits, etc.
  • Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair of substitute damaged units. 
  • Discover opportunities, make recommendations and implement improving conditions and execute various electrical systems.





  • Journeyman or Red Seal Electrician
  • Three (3) years experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems
  • Three (3) years experience in a manufacturing, production, food industry or pharmaceuticals.
  • Demonstrated ability to use electrical and hand tools, and understanding of electrical drawings and blueprints
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures, federal and provincial regulations and guidelines
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving ability and risk assessment.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability.
  • Excellent time management & multi-tasking abilities, as well as a high level of energy and ability to provide an exceptional level of customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Microsoft office, word and excel experience is an asset.
  • Preferred controls background is and asset.
  • Experience with CMMS’s programs.
  • PLC experience is preferred.
  • Mechanically proficient with conveyors, motors and gearboxes.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including bright, humid, and cold environments; ability to work in noisy environments.
  • Ability to work shift work, including evenings and weekends.
