MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST

 

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safe and proper operation, and maintenance routines across the operation in accordance with maintenance standards, legislative acts and regulations.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • CMMS Superuser
  • Setup of site equipment assets in CMMS
  • Setup of equipment documentation library
  • Development of preventive and predictive maintenance program in CMMS.
  • Optimization and continuous improvement of PM program
  • Performing root cause analysis for chronic equipment issues.
  • Performing Failure Mode Effect Analysis on selected equipment.
  • Owns major shutdown/outage work Ensures work is planned ahead of time and completed in a timely manner to minimize downtime and provide uninterrupted service to the operation
  • Owns facilities maintenance work
  • Provides input into operating and capital budget, ensuring that expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations.
  • Owns KPI reporting and maintenance metrics
  • Owns Maintenance Skills Training program
  • Overlooks critical spare parts setup with parts coordinator
  • Ensures compliance with safety matters under Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
  • Understands and follows Divisional and Corporate procurement policies and procedures.
  • Ensures 24/7 coverage for onsite response to emergencies.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possession of engineering or engineering technologist degree is considered an asset
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing facility in maintenance planning or supervision role
  • Positive attitude, high intensity to win and flexibility
  • Considerable experience in planning, scheduling, coordinating work activities.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of staff, including the preparation of briefing notes, reports and other documents.
  • Effective decision maker with a track record demonstrating innovation, problem solving and conflict resolution skills, promoting organizational performance and continuous improvement and the ability to promote and foster teamwork.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required to support emergencies
