MAINTENANCE LEAD SPECIALIST

 

Reporting to the Facility Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Lead Specialist will work closely with maintenance shift leads and maintenance planner to oversee execution of daily maintenance and work with project teams, maintenance improvement specialist to ensure maintenance support. This role will appeal to positive leader who excels in bringing engagement, execution and thrives in a collaborative fast pace environment.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs safety monitoring of technicians, shift leads and contractors.  
  • Ensures execution of daily maintenance activities
  • Communicates expected availability and real-time delays to stakeholders while providing mitigation recommendations.
  • Single point of contact for information concerning maintenance work, equipment, and equipment repairs.
  • Works with project teams to ensure project deliverables are met for maintenance requirements
  • Supports maintenance improvement specialist in root cause analysis
  • Works with Maintenance Improvement Specialist to determine training needs for technicians and shift leads.
  • Provides maintenance planner with weekly work order prioritization
  • Supports maintenance improvement specialist with PM development, review and analysis
  • Ensures proper CMMS System Usage (Work Order Quality, Resource Utilization, PM completion rate, PM Ratio, Reactive Work Usage, Maintenance Efficiency, Time Entry, electronic signatures, work closing etc.)
  • Provides maintenance KPI reporting
  • Owner of major shutdown work planning and execution
  • 5S and Visualization Leader in maintenance areas
  • Participates in daily, weekly and monthly departmental meetings
  • Technical Resource for Maintenance Planner
  • Shop Rebuild Process Oversight
  • Develops Technical Skills and Equipment SME's in their team
  • Maintains knowledge of the work order backlog and set priorities for shutdown work
  • Improvement Task Force leader
  • Reduces the number of job interruptions once work is started.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proven record of excellent leadership, execution and communication skills.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Experience working with ERP and CMMS systems.
  • Excellent understanding of a range of business intelligence concepts and common business functions and practices, including but not limited to maintenance management, inventory management, customer service, records management, policies and procedures, etc.
  • Demonstrates ability to quickly adapt while maintaining focus and execute a high degree of accuracy when working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements.
  • Must be self-motivated and customer focused
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment on a multitude of projects.
  • Ability to think strategically, problem solve and make quick decisions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Time management and follow-up skills; highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Be approachable and supportive.
  • Accountable for results, strives to meet and exceed expectations.

 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business or related discipline is considered an asset.  College or Technical Diplomas in an Electrical or Mechanical discipline will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
