Reporting to the Vice President, Manufacturing, this Manager, Production Planning role will work closely with our facilities to gather requirements and produce production and manufacturing schedules for our  Canadian manufacturing sites to support our national and international operations. This position will have the option to work remotely, with preference to work out of Remote Ontario. 



  • Manage, coach and support the production planning team in creating and maintaining the overall Master Production Schedule including building the initial models and providing insight and guidance on interim and final solutions
  • Combine demand forecasts and inventory reports to create efficient cultivation and manufacturing plans for all sites 
  • Optimize manufacturing schedules, including coordination of work orders within agreed upon lead times to ensure sufficient product available
  • Communicate expected availability and real-time delays to stakeholders while providing mitigation recommendations
  • Support the development of daily and weekly schedules
  • Scheduling and tracking all product through the entire product realization cycle
  • Prepare high level management summaries of cultivation and manufacturing volumes
  • Manage facility forecast models, analyze trends, manage forecast tools, and maintain accurate data
  • Ensure production plans are communicated to stakeholders to ensure sufficient procurement and staffing demands and lead times
  • Define and determine trends, proceed with all required planning analysis to identify any issue
  • Consult and collaborate with functional teams such as demand planning, procurement, sales, manufacturing and cultivation, product innovation, quality, science, IT and finance to obtain relevant data and insights on production planning
  • Support strategic objectives and champion continuous improvement
  • Other duties as assigned 



  • Broad knowledge and excellent understanding of a range of business intelligence concepts and common business functions and practices, including but not limited to maintenance management, inventory management, customer service, records management, policies and procedures, finance systems and reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements
  • Self-motivated and customer focused
  • Experience working with ERP software
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and collaborate on projects
  • Ability to think strategically, problem solve and make quick decisions
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel (advanced skills)
  • Proficiency in PowerBI and database setup and management (Access)
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Time management and follow-up skills; highly organized and detail oriented

  • Accountable for results, strives to meet and exceed expectations



  • 6-8 years’ experience production planning in a manufacturing environment
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Business or related discipline, and minimum of four years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
