Reporting to the Manager, Health and Safety (West) the Primary Care Paramedic will be responsible for responding and addressing medical concerns as well as acting as a safety liaison between Health and Safety and the facility. This position is located at our Sky facility in Nisku, AB.


  • Providing response and medical aid for emergent medical requests while adhering to provincial legislation and professional associate guidelines.
  • Assess ill or injured employees and make decisions on fitness for work.
  • Evaluate the workplace environment and assist with developing safety-management practices.
  • Promptly advise supervisory personnel of any illnesses, injuries and/or trending health issues requiring medical attention.
  • Assist with safety investigations.
  • Write and prepare detailed reports and take follow-up actions as appropriate on emergency calls.
  • Tests, replenishes, cleans and restores equipment and supplies to immediate readiness status upon return from calls. Maintains records of activity; informs appropriate individuals of needed repairs, supplies, etc.
  • Develop and influence a positive company safety culture.
  • Other administrative tasks as required
  • Support the development of annual Emergency services strategies and associated objectives for the SKY facility
  • Respond to Emergency calls and assume Emergency Command as necessary



  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and strong observational and listening skills.
  • Ability to confidently assess and appropriately manage emergency situations
  • Valid EMT-A registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics
  • Completion of an accredited Primary Care Paramedic program.
  • Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP)
  • Previous experience working in a production or manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
  • Excellent time management & multi-tasking abilities, as well as a high level of energy and ability to provide an exceptional level of customer service to internal and external customers
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information and situations
  • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and speak publicly to workers and leaders]
  • Excellent leadership skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills.
