Quality Assurance Auditor Shift Lead

Aurora Cannabis Inc. is currently looking for a Quality Assurance Auditor Shift Lead to work with our operations team in the fast-paced cannabis industry. Reporting to the QA Supervisor, this position will be responsible for overseeing members of the Quality Assurance Auditor team located at our Polaris Facility located by the Edmonton International Airport in Nisku, AB. 



  • Oversee QA Auditors’ productivity to ensure all duties and tasks are being performed efficiently and effectively and support production goals
  • Review batch records, log books and master control tasks
  • Provide ongoing feedback and direction as work is performed and addresses any employee conflicts
  • Promote happy employees and effective workflows. Set performance metrics for each team member and then work with team members to make sure that all metrics are met
  • Understand, enforce and follow all relevant Standard Operating Procedures, which may change from time to time. Provide coaching and support to QA Auditors in new processes. 
  • Ensure alignment with QA group to ensure that facility SOPs are being followed in a consistent manner. 
  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, product quality, and safety
  • Arrange to have shifts covered (e.g. when employees take time off)
  • Coordinate with other leads cross shift
  • Ensure that the workplace is safe and clean. This includes reviewing and enforcing all Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards and policies. 
  • Complete and fill all incident reports and accident reports and reporting all violations of safety and other policies
  • Complete all required documentation (manual and electronic) including Log Books, Batch Records, and Daily Production Report, using good documentation practices


  • Three (3) years’ minimum in a Supervisor or Lead role with proven ability to manage and lead diverse employee groups
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Science background recommended
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production or quality assurance environment considered an asset 
  • Knowledge or basic understanding of GMP standards and SOP’s 
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to meet deadlines and ensure department goals are achieved
  • Accurately follow instructions, complete forms and paperwork as required
  • Knowledge or basic understanding of GMP standards is considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required to support operational requirements

This position will be working in the evenings, 4 days on and 3 days off from 4:00pm to 2:30am.
