SHOP FOREMAN

 

Aurora Cannabis Inc. is currently looking for a SHOP FOREMAN to work with our Industrial Design and Packaging team in the fast-paced cannabis industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily management of the shop team and equipment.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manage shop productivity and efficiency
  • Investigate and undertake analysis on how to improve existing equipment
  • Work with the shop team to confirm deliverables and services are being completed satisfactorily
  • Schedule incoming equipment and machining projects
  • Perform maintenance and mechanical repairs of equipment
  • Perform installation and setup of equipment and automated packaging lines
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to
  • Train team on equipment use
  • Plan and monitor shop inventory and tools
  • Obtain quotes and procure equipment
  • Liaise with cross-functional stakeholders to collect requirements and maintain effective communication
  • Oversee and coordinate the development of shop protocols and procedures
  • Work closely with shipping and receiving team to assist in maintaining inventory levels and shipping plans

  • Technical inclination and mechanically skilled

  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook)
  • Strong work ethic, highly motivated and enjoys a challenge

  • High level of professionalism, integrity and ethics
  • Willing and able to learn new skills and concepts quickly
  • Enjoys a multi-faceted and dynamic work environment
  • Ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team

  • Problem solving and analysis

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Minimum of 5+ years in skilled trades and/or technical background
  • Previous experience in shop foreman positions preferred
  • Familiarity with a wide range of mechanical skills
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams operating in a fast-paced, innovation driven environment
  • Knowledge of the emerging cannabis industry would be considered an asset
