Aurora Cannabis Inc. is currently looking to hire a Payroll Coordinator for their rapidly growing payroll team! Reporting to the Senior Payroll Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, processing, and monitoring the payroll in an effective and efficient manner to ensure, that employees are paid in a timely and appropriate manner.




  • Data preparation for Payroll and Benefits Functions
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees in Canada
  • Respond to employee queries, and conduct appropriate audits to ensure data integrity
  • Ensure all data files are complete for transmission to Ceridian
  • Create and/or run reports from payroll or time and attendance system
  • Ensure the timely processing of journal entries into the accounting system
  • Prepare reconciliations for payroll accounts
  • Prepare T4’s, ROE’s, and various payroll reports as requested
  • Coordinate employee benefits and administration as necessary
  • Process benefits enrolment, terminations, and changes
  • Ensure vacation tracking and other benefits are accurately maintained
  • Match purchase orders confirming prices and quantity to vendors’ invoices
  • Verify receipt of material or services/confirmation of receipt of material or services
  • Check accuracy of employee reimbursement expenses before processing
  • Process cheque runs and Prepare manual cheques as and when required
  • Ensure compliance to Company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for WCB remittances in all jurisdiction
  • Evaluates, requests/concerns, analyses and initiates the necessary action to implement change for improvement
  • Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of employee records as they relate to the organization and its customers
  • Partner with HR and benefits in aligning and implementing a more sophisticated payroll and benefits system




  • Certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or working towards certification
  • Full cycle payroll experience is preferred
  • Quebec payroll experience is an asset
  • Detail oriented: High attention to detail
  • Organizational skills: Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects with tight and competing deadlines
  • Customer service Focus: drive for service excellence
  • Experience using payroll software, time and attendance and HRIS systems
  • Knowledge of payroll functions and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills, both in oral and written
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of  Ceridian is an asset
