Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Supervisor will work in collaboration with the payroll team and management and lead all aspects of the organizations payroll system. The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely, accurate and compliance of payroll services, and driving process improvements. The successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional supervisory/leadership skills, while being hands-on in a fast-pace, growing environment.




  • Supervise payroll administration while working in collaboration with the Payroll Manager and providing coaching and mentorship where appropriate
  • Lead the development and implementation of process improvements in all payroll related processes, including standardization of payroll processes across jurisdictions
  • Ensure regular and timely reporting to support payroll management
  • Oversee and assist in processing bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees throughout Canada
  • Oversee processes and data preparation for Payroll and Benefits Functions
  • Respond to employee queries, and conduct appropriate audits to ensure data integrity
  • Ensure all data files are complete for transmission to Ceridian
  • Prepare reconciliations for payroll accounts
  • Prepare T4’s, ROE’s, and various payroll reports as requested
  • Ensure vacation tracking and other benefits are accurately maintained
  • Ensure compliance to Company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for WCB remittances in all jurisdiction
  • Evaluates, requests/concerns, analyses and initiates the necessary action to implement change for improvement
  • Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of employee records as they relate to the organization and its customers
  • Partner with HR and benefits in aligning and implementing a more sophisticated payroll and benefits system




  • Certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP)
  • 8+ years of progressive full cycle payroll experience is preferred
  • 3+ years experience leading or supervising payroll teams
  • Quebec payroll experience is a definite asset
  • Detail oriented: High attention to detail
  • Organizational skills: Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects with tight and competing deadlines
  • Customer service Focus: drive for service excellence
  • Experience using payroll software, time and attendance and HRIS systems
  • Knowledge of payroll functions and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills, both in oral and written
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of Dayforce Ceridian is an asset
