Aurora Cannabis Inc. is currently recruiting for a Research Specialist with a Neuroscience background to join our expanding team in Nisku, AB. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Research, the incumbent will have their Master’s degree or PhD and be responsible for a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, the following:



·       Conducts research, utilizing scientific literature and other sources of information to collect, record, analyze, and evaluate facts

·       Discusses findings with other personnel to evaluate validity of findings and downstream application

·       Prepares reports of completed and ongoing projects as requested by management

·       Works with various departments within the company to utilize existing information for research, product development, education, marketing and public relations purposes

·       Helps to design and lead research projects/programs and writes grant applications

·       Helps to maintain relationships with external research partners

·       Implements guidelines for projects prepared by Aurora employees to outline research procedures to be followed



·       Master’s Degree or PhD with a neuroscience focus

·       3-5 years’ of relevant experience

·       Familiarity with the medical use of Cannabis and understanding of the Cannabis industry in general is considered a strong asset

·       Knowledge and/or experience working in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment considered an asset

·       Bilingual (English/French) is an asset

·       Excellent organizational skills

·       The ability to interact positively with a variety of individuals

·       Strong verbal and written communication skills

·       Excellent computer skills, proficient in PowerPoint and Excel

·       Knowledge of webinar and/or other online presentation platforms is desirable

·       Able to analyze and adapt to business priorities

·       Able to work in a fast pace and changing environment

·       Excellent attention to detail

·       Self-starter and ability to multi-task with attention to detail

·       Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences

·       Must be able to pass a criminal record check
