IMPORT AND EXPORT ASSOCIATE

 

Reporting to the Import/Export Specialist, the Import/Export Associate will be the main point of contact and logistics for import/export across all our Canadian operations. The Import/Export Associate will be based at our Markham facility and will be responsible for the following:

 

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for document preparation, request for permits, request for documentation, communications with entities involved, follow ups, etc.
  • Responsible for the final execution of all import/export
  • Coordinating, planning and tracking transactions and shipments
  • Communicating with vendors and partners in order to build excellence customer relationships
  • Maintain files in accordance with company policies and SOP in order to develop and maintain an organized workflow
  • Liaising with multiple departments including, but not limited to, production, shipping, regulatory affairs, demand and supply teams.
  • Maintaining inventory status logs for import/export demands
  • Implementing technical details relating to international transportation, such as customs regulations and any necessary documentation
  • Executing on project management tasks as assigned
  • Main point of contact for our wholesale clients
  • Other duties as required

 

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Post-secondary education in relevant studies of Logistics management, international business, Commerce and/or relevant experience in the logistics sector
  • 2-3 years’ experience in an import/export logistics capacity
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment considered an asset
  • Understanding of national and international import/export legislation and the ability to effectively troubleshoot any issues that may arise in international freight transportation
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
