MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – AIR

 

Aurora Cannabis Inc. is currently looking for a Maintenance Technician to join the Facility Maintenance Team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and Supervisor, the Millwright will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform corrective, preventative and predictive maintenance on industrial manufacturing equipment
  • Diagnose and repair equipment faults, equipment issues and perform emergency breakdown repairs in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Perform general repairs around the facility as required
  • Efficiently set up, inspect, and shut down production-related equipment when required
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations and decrease turnaround times. 
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation 
  • Perform all responsibilities in strict accordance with all facility safety, sanitization, and quality assurance procedures
  • Complete daily Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Work Order assignments according to facility standards and requirements
  • Enter Work Requests in CMMS according to facility standards and requirements
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry technologies and codes 
  • Develop and demonstrate awareness and understanding of corporate policies, practices and procedures regarding health and safety and the environment and commit to personal compliance with same 
  • Support the Maintenance Planner and Team Leads with Work Order scoping and parts staging
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of Maintenance Technicians as well as with members of all operational departments
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Maintenance department of a manufacturing or production facility; ideally food or pharmaceuticals
  • Valid Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) license; Journeyman Red Seal considered an asset
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, and ability to use power and manual tools
  • Multidisciplinary industrial trade experience considered an asset; ie: commercial boilers, technical plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, gas pipe fitting, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience working with safety for self and others as top priority
  • Strong organizational and time management skills including planning, prioritization, and execution; ability to multi-task and exercise sound judgment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proven ability to follow detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Experience working with external vendors and OEM manuals
  • Willing and able to work various shift work schedules as required
  • Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team, including the ability to establish excellent relationships with internal and external customers/stakeholders/suppliers
  • Strong communication skills; written and verbal
  • Proficient in the use of computers for word processing and spreadsheets, email, CMMS systems; experience with full MS Suite of products including Sharepoint, and Dimo Maint are considered an asset
  • Positive attitude and outstanding work ethic
