MANAGER, LOGISTICS - MEDICAL 

 

Aurora is recruiting a Manager, Logistics - Medical to be responsible for managing our Medical distribution and logistics programs. With operations excellence and continuous improvement as our end goal - this role will work with our fulfillment centres to develop and enhance our distribution networks through effective management of our distribution center operations and cross functional alignment. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide oversight to multi-site distribution operations and facilitate the development of SOPs and performance management KPIs. 

  • Work in conjunction with site management to ensure daily production targets are met and outbound orders are shipped and delivered on time. 

  • Perform regular visits to distribution facilities to standardize processes and drive continuous improvement.  

  • Work closely with Production facilities to streamline product flow and availability. 

  • Work closely with Client Care and Sales teams to monitor outbound order flow, checking for timeliness and accuracy. 

  • Work closely with Transportation Management team to ensure vendor performance and patient-satisfaction are held to highest standard. 

  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and service provider contacts to improve overall business performance. 

  • Inform cost changes, shipment issues, supply concerns to the appropriate departments in a timely manner. 

  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, material flow improvement, and business development. 

  • Accountable to operation spending; budget management, reviewal, and refinement. 

  • Initiate and participate on actions to improve processes and performance of operations including working with other facility and functional representatives. 

  • Provide project management support for facility operations and corporate initiatives. 

  • Drive cross-functional alignment and build consensus across multiple layers in a matrix organization. 

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree and/or 5+ years of logistics/operations management experience 

  • Great understanding of logistics and fulfillment processes in a facility environment 

  • Experience in E-commerce B2C fulfillment operations 

  • Experience operating in a Startup Environment is a valued asset 

  • Project and Inventory management skills are key 

  • Analytical process view and able to document processes in process-flow 

  • Computers and technology oriented, advanced in Excel, as well as ERP and WMS systems 

  • Experience at responding to complex and stressful situations and resolving issues positively 

  • Strong reporting skills 

  • High degree of ability to think strategically and problem solve 

  • Able to follow and uphold standard operating procedures precisely and consistently; detail oriented 

  • Time management and follow-up skills; highly organized and detail oriented 

  • Self-starter with good judgment and can proactively manage up where appropriate 

  • Accountable for results, strives to meet and exceed expectations 

  • Operations excellence and continuous improvement oriented 

  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills 

  • Ability to sort, prioritize, retain and analyze information 

  • Ability to document relevant information correctly and completely 

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, use judgment and remain calm 

  • You have reliable transportation to work 

  • Able to pass a background screening mandated by Health Canada 

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written 

  • Fluent in both French and English is a plus 

 

EXPERIENCE

  • 5-8 years of Supply Chain Management experience 

  • 5+ years in Logistics, Operations, Warehousing, Fulfillment, and/or Production management 

  • 5+ years project management and operations excellence experience a plus 

 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor degree required, Supply Chain or Logistics/Operations Management considered an asset
