MANUFACTURING SHIFT LEAD, CHOCOLATES

Aurora Cannabis Inc. is currently looking for a Manufacturing Shift Lead, Chocolates to work with our industrial design and packaging team in the fast-paced cannabis industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the production of chocolates and the chocolate production team.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Organize and maintain manufacturing areas and oversee move of goods in to the manufacturing rooms 

  • Oversee worker productivity to ensure all duties and tasks are being performed efficiently and effectively and production goals are met.  

  • Provide ongoing feedback and direction as work is performed and addresses any employee conflicts 

  • Promote happy employees and effective workflows. Set performance metrics for each team member and then work with team members to make sure that all metrics are met 

  • Follow manufacturing and processing procedures, set machine or equipment controls, carry out production and inspection processes 

  • Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine, controls, or control media within capabilities 

  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, product quality, and safety 

  • Arrange to have shifts covered (e.g. when employees take time off) 

  • Coordinate with other leads cross shift 

  • Check equipment and maintain a clean and safe work area. If equipment breaks, the leader coordinates with the Chocolates Team Lead to order repairs 

  • Ensure that the workplace is safe and clean. This includes reviewing and enforcing all Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards and policies.  

  • Complete and fill all incident reports and accident reports and reporting all violations of safety and other policies 

  • Maintain a fully-stocked inventory and communicate with Chocolates Team Lead to order supplies 

  • Revise, understand, and follow all SOPs and related forms to GMP standards 

  • Complete all required documentation (manual and electronic) including Log Books, Batch Records, and Daily Production Report, using good documentation practices 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook) 

  • Ability to successfully manage small and large budgets 

  • Strong work ethic, highly motivated and enjoys a challenge

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Proven experience leading a team 

  • High school diploma or equivalent  

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment considered an asset  

  • Knowledge or basic understanding of GMP standards and SOP’s considered an asset 

  • Excellent attention to detail  

  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands 

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written 

  • Ability to meet deadlines and ensure department goals are achieved 

  • Accurately follow instructions, complete forms and paperwork as required 

  • Knowledge or basic understanding of GMP standards is considered an asset 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively 

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required to support operational requirements
