We’re looking for an ambitious and hard-working professional to join our Cultivation team in the role of Coordinator, Cultivation. 

 

As a Coordinator , you will be responsible for….

 

Main Responsibilities

 

Leadership Activities:

  • Train, coach, manage and empower Flower Team.
  • Motivate and inspire the team to embrace new technologies, processes or strategies.
  • Foster a productive, compliant, and innovative cultivation environment while ensuring high quality production.
  • Lead by example in maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Coordinate and participate in cultivation related activities such as plant maintenance (pruning & defoliation), transplanting, and room sanitation.
  • Encourage employee involvement to achieve shared organizational objectives.
  • Openly and honestly communicate with all employees to build trust and effective teamwork.
  • Provide fair and balanced performance feedback to staff on a regular basis to encourage and motivate a positive workforce   
  • Assist the Cultivation Supervisor with scheduling and delegating tasks to the Flower Tteam.
  • Coordinate daily activities to determine opportunities for improvement in productivity, efficiency, and quality.
  • Collaborate effectively with other leadership teams to ensure successful integration of cultivation with other company functions.

 

Cultivation Activities:

  • Where applicable, must adhere to Aurora’s SOPs and comply with Health Canada’s Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR). In addition, must adhere to all ISO requirements and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
  • Continuously monitor the crop to ensure optimal plant health and productivity.
  • Ensure crop growth specifications are acceptable by meeting or exceeding the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate with Flower Team Supervisor to ensure timely adjustments to climate, lighting, airflow and other cultivation variables are maintained.
  • Communicate and escalate all issues with a crop and/or the production process to all the relevant parties as required.
  • Recommend, perform and coordinate corrective actions such as the removal, isolation or destruction of plants.
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure timely & effective operations, including facility maintenance.
  • Coordinate timely & effective pest & disease control measures as required.
  • Encouraged to participate in Aurora’s Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Recognize unsafe conditions and practices and make corrections to prevent injuries and product loss.
  • Support by completing safety inspections of the production area as well as being involved in incident investigation and inspection programs.
  • Where applicable, promote and maintain GACP and GMP requirements. 
  • Position details and activities may change from time to time in order to meet operational needs.
     

Knowledge and Education: 

  • A strong commitment to long-term career growth within the industry.
  • Knowledge with climate control systems (Priva, Argus or Hoogendoorn)
  • Excellent time management, leadership, decision making, and interpersonal skillsskills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to achieve objectives.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate to excellent computer skills in MS Office
  • Previous leadership experience is required
  • Post-secondary degree in Agriculture/Horticulture and/or previous greenhouse experience is required 

 

Working Conditions:

  • Physical effort is required, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 30 lbs.
  • Temperatures range from 20 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius.
  • Able to perform cleaning and crop maintenance duties while working on a step ladderladder.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and after hours as requiredrequired.
  • Repetitive use of hands, wristswrists, and forearms
  • This position involves significant exposure to cannabis/plant materials, and it is therefore not likely suitable for an employee that may suffer from allergies to cannabis/plant pollen material, or experience other medical issues, such as asthma and hay fever, as a result of cannabis/plant material exposure
     

 

 This role is in one of Aurora’s Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified plants and works directly with products. Towards the end of the recruitment process, we require that you undergo a medical screening exam with our third-party vendor.
