Facilities Cleaner


Location: Markham, ON

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Clean and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc.)
  • Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
  • Notify management of reoccurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
  • Unload supply trucks for ongoing construction projects
  • Clean construction Markham facility daily
  • Move equipment as required
  • Identify safety hazards and report to site manager
  • Make minor repairs as required
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms
  • Support other departments with special tasks and projects
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
  • Other duties as required


Working Conditions

  • Continuous physical effort is required, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and after hours as required.
  • Repetitive use of hands, wrists, shoulders and forearms


Job Requirements:

  • Proven working experience as a cleaner
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervisor
  • High degree of initiative
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to work with heavy equipment and machinery
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
  • High level of Integrity and trustworthiness
