Junior Infrastructure Analyst

Aurora Cannabis is looking for a Junior Infrastructure Analyst to join our Information Services team in the fast-paced cannabis industry. Aurora is growing rapidly and to support our growth we are going to be deploying enterprise class technology based primarily on the Microsoft technology stack, along with a software-defined network an many other SaaS based apps and and all of the back-end infrastructure needed to support this. The Junior Infrastructure Analyst will play a key role in the design and deployment of this infrastructure and applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understands the issues involved with administering and maintaining corporate technology infrastructure
  • Responsible for MS Active Directory and MS Exchange add/changes
  • Understands various networking protocols (TCP/IP, SFTP, SSL, VPN) and is able to perform basic troubleshooting
  • Responsible for assisting with LAN and WAN network equipment installation and ongoing maintenance * Responsible for office voice and data cabling, patch cables, cable runs etc
  • Assists with the administration and maintenance of the VOIP system, including VOIP switches
  • Coordinates activities with vendors and third-party suppliers as required
  • Maintains any pertinent hardware and software inventories required for rollout
  • Participates in design, build and test activities
  • Complies with all project management expectations relating to documentation standards, status reporting etc.
  • Stays abreast of new and emerging technologies
  • Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network issues
  • Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving a wide range of technical problems.
  • Responsible for maintaining and supporting servers and storage infrastructure including server and storage hardware and operating systems
  • Play a key role, including hands on as required, in the projects that will deploy infrastructure and applications
  • Contribute to the overall IS strategy as required
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining documentation for their Site, which may include as-built drawings, circuit inventory, equipment inventory, configurations, and training materials.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Large enterprise experience with:
    • Windows Server environment
    • Enterprise switch configuration, routing, and wireless solutions
    • Certificate management
    • Server Virtualization technologies
    • Storage solutions
    • DHCP configuration
    • VPN solutions
    • NTP
    • Radius
    • DFSR
    • Cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure
    • Information security best practices as it relates to infrastructure
    • Change Control
  • Experience with the following is considered an asset:
    • IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS concepts
    • Hyperconverged Infrastructure
    • Linux based environments
    • Call centre technology and management
    • Industrial control systems
    • Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) devices and architecture
    • Juniper
    • Nutanix
  • Excellent customer service skills, positive attitude
  • Resourceful and collaborative
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Bilingual in French and English, an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and collaborate on projects
  • Develop and maintain positive and cooperative relationships, inside and outside of work group, interacting in a friendly, open, honest, and accepting manner.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in IT
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive IT experience working in a complex environment with many distributed sites
  • 2+ years’ experience working with Microsoft Windows servers in large enterprises
  • 2+ years’ experience administering Microsoft Active Directory in large enterprises
  • 2+ years’ experience administering the Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications
  • 2+ years’ experience administering Microsoft Skype for Business in large enterprises
  • 2+ years’ experience working with a variety of storage systems
  • 2+ years’ experience working on projects in large enterprises
  • Experience with projects involving multi-disciplinary teams operating in a fast-paced, innovation driven environment.
  • Knowledge of the emerging cannabis industry would be considered an asset.
