SITE ACCOUNTANT, East

 

Aurora is currently looking to hire a Site Accountant to join our team. The Site Accountant reports to the Operational Finance Controller, East, and is responsible for managing inventory, maintaining the general ledger and providing financial and analytical support for the Aurora Ridge facility to the operational teams. Additionally, the Site Accountant is responsible for providing accurate and timely financial reporting to the senior leadership team. Occasional travel across Eastern Canada will be required for this role.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Reporting and reconciliation of inventory movements and balances
  • Regulatory reporting to Health Canada and the CRA
  • Administration of inventory counts, providing guidance on proper process to Operations staff, reconciling count results, and investigating differences
  • Conducting production and general ledger variance analysis and presenting findings to cross-functional teams
  • Preparing accruals and other journal entries to support the monthly accounting cycle
  • Preparing the inventory valuation model to determine production cost allocations
  • Supporting financial and regulatory audits
  • Assisting in implementing and ensuring compliance with SOx, IFRS, internal control, and other policy requirements
  • KPI calculation and reporting
  • Assisting in preparation of budgets and forecasts for production facilities
  • Provide support to Operational Finance Controllers and Corporate Controller
  • Other special projects / duties as required

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Canadian CPA designation or enrollment in the CPA program
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of full cycle accounting in a high-volume environment, preferably in the manufacturing industry
  • Excellent overall verbal and written communication skills
  • Public company experience working in IFRS would be an asset
  • Self-motivated and customer focused
  • Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience working with accounting software
  • Experience working with ERP software would be an asset
  • Flexibility to assist with various tasks within the finance team environment
