HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR, SUN

Aurora Cannabis Inc. is currently recruiting for a Human Resources Coordinator to join our Sun team in Medicine Hat. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, West, the incumbent will be responsible for a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Full-cycle recruitment, handling multiple positions at any given time
  • Coordinating and participating in the recruitment process by creating recruitment strategies, screening applications, conducting interviews, reference checks, and preparing employment offers on behalf of the hiring Manager
  • Workforce planning as the hiring needs of the facility adjust
  • Handling employee relations matters including, but not limited to, resignations, terminations, complaint investigations, and other matters as they arise
  • Providing service to the organization in support of HR management
  • Working with Management to identify and plan for human resource requirements to meet short and long-term business requirements
  • Ensuring the efficient operations of the HR department by coordinating recruitment and on-boarding activities
  • Facilitating New Hire Orientation as needed
  • Providing consultation and advice to Managers on a variety of employee relations and human resource issues
  • Developing and/or supporting the execution of human resource guidelines, policies and procedures that adhere to applicable legislation, regulations, etc.
  • Performing administrative functions and working collaboratively with the HR team in a professional, confidential and efficient manner
  • Other assignments as requested/required

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Good understanding and knowledge of human resources principles, best practices and applicable HR legislation
  • Detail oriented: High attention to detail and
  • Organizational skills: ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects with tight and competing deadlines
  • Customer service Focus: drive for service excellence
  • Advanced computer skills including experience with HRIS and Microsoft Office products
  • Exceptional communication skills; verbal, written and presentation
  • High degree of initiative, diplomacy and discretion
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, including Management and Executive
  • Works independently yet strong HR team player

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Human Resources Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources with 2+ years of directly related experience
  • CPHR Designation is an asset
  • Bilingualism is considered a strong asset
  • Ability to multi task and work effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Excellent organization, time management, communication, influence and negotiation skills
  • Capable of handling change in a growing company and working from the ground up on systems and processes
