Reporting to the General Manager of Aurora Sun located in Medicine Hat, AB, the Operational Support Specialist will be responsible for the following:

. *Note: For training purposes the successful candidate may be required to travel to the Aurora Sky facility near Edmonton, AB, or, travel between Sun and other facilities as necessary.


  • Identify and develop new procedural efficiencies in operational departments
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Periodically audit all processes to develop data regarding conformance
  • Review and remain current with budget and expenditure for the facility
  • Provide operational support to and maintain strong communication with the General Manager
  • Attend and participate in all relevant operational and leadership team meetings/committees
  • Understand and follow all related SOPs and procedures to GMP standards
  • Complete all required documentation using good documentation practices
  • Assist in training new staff for safety, quality assurance and quality control
  • Assist with the interview process and hiring personnel as necessary
  • Assess weekly reports from the Business Analyst confirming the details are current and accurate
  • Update weekly production spreadsheets including products being harvested and or bulk packaged, samples going for testing, update treatment spreadsheet
  • Identify product needing treatment, coordinate with others to ensure all necessary documents are complete and coordinate and prepare the shipments
  • Coordinate the sampling of cannabis products with appropriate departments to track and ensure deadlines are met
  • Assist and support all departments with coordinating training, disease inspection, and troubleshooting problems



  • Undergraduate degree, and 2-3 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently
  • Time management and follow-up skills; highly organized and detail oriented
  • Accountable for results, strives to meet and exceed expectations
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and collaborate on projects Knowledge of cannabis production and culture, especially focused on best-practices production methodology
