We’re looking for an ambitious and hard-working professional to join our Pemberton team in the role of Coordinator, Propagation! Reporting to the Supervisor, Propagation, the Coordinator, Propagation is responsible for the daily care of cannabis plants from mother to flower, supporting all activities related to the propagation of plants, including cloning, transplanting, pruning, plant care, and plant destruction. Reporting to the Lead Cultivator/Propagation Supervisor, this role ensures the effective organization and maintenance of production areas, oversees team productivity, and drives daily operations to meet production goals. The Coordinator, Propagation assigns tasks, provides ongoing feedback and support to team members, and addresses any workflow or employee issues during the shift. Key responsibilities include monitoring workplace safety, maintaining inventory and supplies, supervising the application of nutrients and biological controls, and ensuring all activities comply with established SOPs, GMP standards, and regulatory requirements. The Coordinator, Propagation also maintains documentation, assists with scheduling, identifies equipment maintenance needs, and fosters a clean, safe, and productive work environment.
As a Coordinator, Propagation, you will...
- Organize and maintain production areas.
- Supervise propagation of plants including cloning, transplanting, pruning, plant destruction, and plant care.
- Follow and implement instructions from the Lead Cultivator/Propagation Supervisor.
- Oversee worker productivity to ensure all duties and tasks are being performed efficiently and effectively and production goals are met. Along with assigning basic tasks, the leader provides ongoing feedback and direction as work is performed and addresses any employee conflicts that arise during the shift.
- Assess individual team member abilities and aptitudes, incorporate into shift duties to promote happy employees and effective workflows. Set performance metrics for each team member and then work with team members to make sure that all metrics are met.
- Arrange to have shifts covered (e.g. when employees take time off).
- Check equipment and maintain a clean and safe work area. If equipment breaks, the leader coordinates with the Propagation Team Lead to order repairs.
- Ensure that the workplace is safe and clean. This includes reviewing and enforcing all Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards and policies. The shift leader is responsible for completing and filing all incident reports and accident reports and reporting all violations of safety and other policies.
- Maintain a fully-stocked inventory and communicate with Propagation Supervisor to order supplies.
- Report signs of pest or diseases on plants.
- Schedule and supervise application of nutrients and biological controls as per direction from Propagation Team Lead.
- Revise, understand, and follow all SOPs and related forms to GMP standards.
- Perform all other duties as required.

- Familiarity with pest management practices and nutrient application protocols is an asset.
- Ability to adapt to changing operational needs.
Bonus points if you have...
- Prior working experience in the Cannabis industry along with knowledge of best practices related to cultivating dry cannabis (an equivalent combination of work experience and education may be considered when creating our talent pool).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in plant propagation, cultivation, or commercial greenhouse operations experience.
- Post-secondary degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Science, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Must have experience managing/supervising a team.
- Experience with commercial plant propagation is an asset.
