We’re looking for a motivated and experienced professional to join our Pemberton team as a Post-Harvest Shift Lead! In this role, you will have the opportunity to combine your love of cannabis with your leadership abilities, overseeing critical post-harvest processes to ensure our products meet and exceed global standards.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Post-Harvest, the Post-Harvest Shift Lead will guide the team in day-to-day operations, ensuring that every step of the process – from bucking and trimming to drying and curing – runs smoothly. You will lead by example, mentor team members, and promote a positive, productive work environment while maintaining compliance with regulations.
As a Post-Harvest Shift Lead, you will...
• Ensure all harvest and trim processes are followed according to prescribed SOPs while also identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies; suggest revisions to SOPs as needed.
• Lead, train, and support Post-Harvest Team Members in achieving daily goals.
• Oversee and perform post-harvest tasks including trimming, bucking, drying, curing, and packaging cannabis products.
• Operating, cleaning, and maintaining automated trimming, bucking, and sorting machines.
• Transport of harvested and processed cannabis between production environments in a sanitary fashion.
• Manage individual as well as team performance.
• Track individual and team metrics to influence production decisions.
• Deal with operational change.
• Properly maintain batch records; coordinate with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and/or Propagation Departments as required.
• Utilize an inventory system, as necessary, to capture and record harvest, weighing, and/or destruction events while following all documentation protocols.
• Participate in meetings as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Strong passion for cannabis and previous experience in a leadership role within a cultivation or production facility considered an asset.
• Deep knowledge of post-harvest processes, including drying, curing, and trimming techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
• Adhere to the company code of conduct and all applicable SOPs.
• Demonstrate a continued level of development and improvement of skills/knowledge to help better complete your duties.
• Strong organization, time management and prioritization skills.
• High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to sit or stand for long period to time.
• Manual dexterity.
Education & Experience:
• Proven leadership skills/team management in a similar environment.
• Knowledge or basic understanding of GMP standards.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
• Understanding of/past experience with KPIs and delivery related metrics considered an asset.
• Experience in process improvement/delivery excellence considered an asset.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required to support operational requirements.
Working Conditions:
• Sitting and/or standing for long periods of time.
• Working in moderate noise levels, ranging from 14°-24° C.
• Mandatory medical mask when processing harvested cannabis.
• Frequent handling of cannabis plants and products, which may involve strong odors and exposure to plant material, including some common allergens.
• Full time work, 4 10 hour shifts a week, 8:00am-6:00pm.
• Overtime available when required.
• Strict compliance with safety protocols, including wearing necessary PPE
• Accountability for team productivity, quality standards, and meeting operational goals.
