Job summary

The Technician, Propagation plays a crucial role in supporting the propagation process within a cultivation facility. This position involves executing various tasks related to cloning, rooting, and initial growth stages of plants to ensure healthy and consistent propagation. 

As a Technician, Propagation, you will...

Propagation Assistance: 

  • Assist in cloning and propagation activities, including cutting, trimming, and transplanting plant material. 
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency and quality in the propagation process. 

Plant Care and Maintenance: 

  • Monitor the health and growth of propagated plants, providing basic care such as watering, feeding, and transplanting. 
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized propagation area to support optimal plant growth conditions. 

Inventory Management Support: 

  • Aid in inventory-related tasks by accurately labeling, documenting, and tracking propagated plants and materials. 
  • Collaborate with the propagation coordinator to maintain accurate records of plant stock and inventory levels. 

Quality Control Assistance: 

  • Support quality control measures by identifying and reporting any irregularities or issues with propagated plants. 
  • Work collaboratively with the propagation team to ensure genetic consistency and plant health. 

Accountabilities: 

  • Assistance in executing propagation tasks following SOPs to maintain quality and consistency. 
  • Support in maintaining accurate records, inventory management, and adherence to cleanliness standards in the propagation area. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Basic understanding of plant propagation techniques, cloning, rooting, and initial growth stages in a cultivation setting. 
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately, work efficiently, and collaborate effectively within a team. 
  • Attention to detail to ensure adherence to quality standards and consistency in propagation activities. 
  • Capacity to maintain cleanliness and adhere to hygiene protocols in a regulated environment. 

Education & Experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent education. 
  • Previous experience in plant care, propagation, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory. 
  • Training or certifications in horticulture, agriculture, or propagation techniques is beneficial.
