BUSINESS ANALYST

 

Aurora Cannabis is looking for a Business Analyst to join our Information Services team in the fast-paced cannabis industry. The successful applicant will be personable, high energy, and be able to “own” and take responsibility for large and multiple business processes. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, while able to understand the bigger picture and most importantly able to drive out requirements. He or she will also be responsible for fully comprehending business needs, crafting appropriate Business Process solutions, and overseeing their translation to appropriate IT solutions to customer satisfaction.

We mandatorily require you have very strong skills in the following:

 

  • Business Process Analysis documentation
  • Eliciting requirements and getting to ‘what the business really needs’
  • Using multitude of BA techniques to probe to get to the heart of the issue/need
  • Learning swiftly and quickly becoming the expert in different Business Processes
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to change of priorities in work
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
  • Maintaining a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and collaborate on projects

 

It will be advantageous if you have skills in the following:

 

  • IIBA methodology and documentation
  • People-oriented Change Management
  • Training business personnel in the use of IT solutions

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Fully understand and document business processes in significantly different business domains
  • Liaise with project stakeholders to elicit well-stated requirements and maintain effective communication
  • Analyze current business processes and determine future business needs
  • Work with stakeholders to determine business needs and craft an appropriate solution
  • Create and maintain comprehensive business analysis documentation
  • Create, analyze, and validate detailed functional specifications
  • Facilitate design sessions with vendors and in-house implementation teams to define solutions
  • Deliver elements of systems design, including concise documentation of data migration rules, business rules, wireframes, or other detailed deliverables.
  • Research and recommend existing software solutions
  • Utilize industry best practices to develop business solutions for the organization
  • Be able to support testing to requirements including all custom solutions developed
  • Provide input on existing processes, procurement procedures and other department operations and recommend improvements to increase efficiencies or decrease costs
  • Execute business process initiatives defined by the Business Process Manager

 

Education & Experience:

 

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Business, IT or related discipline, and four years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Experience with projects involving multi-disciplinary teams operating in a fast-paced, innovation driven environment.
  • Knowledge of the emerging cannabis industry would be considered an asset.
