We’re searching for an ambitious leader to plant their roots with us as our newest Director, Business Development (Medical). In this role, you will report into the Head of Channel Partnerships and Operations and be responsible for leading new business development activities and growing market share throughout the Canadian Market. More specifically, you will support direct sales activities, broker relationships, distribution partnerships and strategic alliances. As the Director, Business Development (Medical) you will…

  • Lead individual business development activities throughout the sales cycle with prospective and existing clients and strategic partners across Canada
  • Win new business directly through direct sales approaches, participating in RFPs, and extending existing account relationships into new territories
  • Develop strong relationships with key contacts within prospect organizations, insurers and unions
  • Design, implement, and maintain a strategic account plan to advance sales growth
  • Analyze and evaluate changing market conditions and support management in developing short-term and long-term sales strategies and business objectives
  • Build and nurture relationships with new clients, working closely with key individuals at multiple levels and functional areas within each organization
  • Present at major industry conferences, client events and finalist presentations
  • Participate in business reviews to validate or update our strategy based on new market conditions or opportunities

 

You will be setup for success if you have…

  • 8 + years of sales and business development experience within professional services, insurance, human capital consulting or a related regulated industry – with a demonstrable record of sales success
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration (we would also welcome an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
  • Experience improving revenue opportunities through account penetration and advising senior leadership on market strategies
  • Deep industry knowledge and subject matter expertise in developing relationships and working in complex business-to-business sales environments with unique procurement processes

 

Bonus points if you have…

  • An MBA with prior work experience in B2B or B2C with D2C
