We are searching for a dynamic professional to join our Global Business Development Division as our newest Director, Global Business Development, reporting into the Executive Vice President, Global Business Development. As Director, Global Business Development you will be responsible for…

  • People Leader: Build and lead a high-performing global business development team of professionals to ensure continuous growth and development at Aurora through effective performance management, training, and coaching programs.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive global business development strategy aligned with organizational goals and market trends.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, potential opportunities, and competitive landscapes in target regions.
  • Partnership Development: Build and nurture strategic partnerships and alliances with key stakeholders, clients, and industry players to facilitate business growth.
  • New Market Entry: Identify and evaluate new markets for expansion, assessing market potential, regulatory requirements, and risks.
  • Sales and Revenue Growth: Drive revenue growth through the identification of new business opportunities, client acquisition, and effective sales strategies.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management: Lead contract negotiations and manage relationships with global partners and clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Performance Metrics: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of global business development initiatives.
  • Revenue Growth: Accountable for achieving revenue targets and margins and contributing to the overall financial success of the organization.
  • Market Expansion: Accountable for successfully expanding the organization's presence in new global markets outside of Canada and Europe.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Accountable for building and maintaining strategic partnerships that enhance the company's global standing.                


You’re the ideal candidate if you have…

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, International Relations, or a related field. Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in global business development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and executing global business development strategies.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
  • Strong network and relationships within the industry and target markets.
  • Global Market Expertise: In-depth understanding of global markets, industry trends, and cultural nuances.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen with the ability to translate market insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Negotiation Skills: Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills with a track record of successful deal closures.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and lead a global business development team.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • International and domestic travel required (10% travel).
