Ecommerce Optimization Specialist

We’re searching for a dynamic professional to plant their roots with us as our newest eCommerce Optimisation Specialist. In this role, you will report into the Senior Manager, Growth Marketing and will be responsible for the site content and merchandising on our e-commerce platform. You will focus on amplifying the digital cannabis experience for our patient and consumers by improving landing pages, search functions and overall site performance with creative and innovative solutions and designs. As a eCommerce Optimisation Specialist, you will…


Content Merchandising and Personalization

  • Manage day-to-day web content through Aurora's content management system (CMS) 
  • Monitor e-commerce website to ensure that products are active and appropriately merchandised in conjunction with omni-channel product releases and marketing calendars
  • Maintain all product imagery and attributes, including: badges, special features, filters, tags, Google feed exclusions, promotional pricing and copy on our digital platforms
  • Oversee the process of assigning and maintaining accurate pricing, promotions, campaigns, coupons etc.
  • Partner with medical marketing team and UX/Designer in creating product landing pages, banners  and other marketing assets that align with new releases, seasonal selling periods and e-commerce campaigns
  • Enhance site search and optimize performance by identifying and resolving searches with no results, creating and managing a library of synonyms for frequently misspelled products and keywords
  • Execute SEO categorization of products and supporting content to drive high sales and margins
  • Collaborate with the greater medical sales team for onsite optimizations such as product recommendations, upselling and cross-selling opportunities
  • Assist with the day-to-day coordination of e-commerce marketplace activities, e.g. product uploads, reporting
  • Stay up to date with e-commerce trends and industry competitors to gain insights into best practices and emerging opportunities in order to identify and document new functional requirements to evolve the shop experience

Journey Optimization and A/B Testing

  • Use insights and data to inform strategies that maximize conversion and improve the customer journey for Aurora's new and existing patients
  • Collaborate with the UX/Designer and medical marketing to develop annual A/B testing plans/roadmap based on business needs and patient pain points
  • Create and execute A/B testing frameworks including hypothesis, test design and implementation plans
  • Monitor and move forward the testing progress to ensure timely delivery
  • Analyze results and present recommendations based on test finding 
  • Partner with medical marketing to improve project execution and post launch optimizations
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices and other testing technologies

Data Analytics

  • Use analytics to identify opportunities for improvement in merchandising efficiency, and drive optimization activities
  • Maintain and evolve the personalization framework and parameters, to ensure patients see content that is appropriate to their segment and journey stage
  • Analyze category performance to evaluate merchandising efforts, product sell through, and opportunities
  • Report on e-commerce trade performance including KPIs, providing data-driven insight, and conducting deep dives to better understand shopping behaviors and trend

You will be setup for success if you have…

  • 5+ years’ experience in site merchandising for an e-commerce website
  • Demonstrated experience supporting e-commerce platforms (Shopify would be an asset) and making site changes to improve conversion rates
  • Proficient understanding of e-commerce UX, content and development projects, and intuitive knowledge of how users shop in digital environments
  • Advanced skill using web analytics and A/B testing to optimize product and category performance and related customer behaviour
  • Strong knowledge of analytical tools for performance measurement and prior experience driving site improvements and innovations and proposing commercial objective
